Dr. Marc Goldstein Joins Seattle Gummy Company’s Medical Advisory Board
Dr. Marc Goldstein has joined gummy medicine pioneer Seattle Gummy Company’s (SGC) medical advisory board, bringing his decades of award-winning medical experience to the table. SGC CEO, Dr. Connie Wan, says she is “thrilled to continue to expand our medical advisory board.” Dr. Goldstein is a co-founder of Philadelphia’s Asthma Center. He is currently serving as Section Chief of the Division of Allergy and Immunology at Pennsylvania Hospital, Penn Medicine, University of Pennsylvania Health System, and has held the position for twenty-two years.
He received his medical education from the University of Pennsylvania. Because of his experience and expertise, he is frequently featured on PA and NJ news outlets as an allergy expert. As part of his responsibilities as Section Chief, he teaches both medical students and doctors in their residency programs. Dr. Goldstein is also an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine and Pediatrics at Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia.
SGC is on the cutting edge of medical science with its research and development focus on gummy medicine. Dr. Wan says, “We started SGC several years ago with the goal to gummimize the common medications. Did you know that 1 in 6 adults reported having trouble swallowing according to an epidemiology study in 2019?” Continued Dr. Wan, “Gummy as a medicine delivery form will not only make it easier for kids to take medications. A huge population will benefit from gummy medicine, which, I believe, will be instrumental in increasing treatment efficiency and medication compliance while reducing medication waste.”
SGC has received its first Investigation New Drug (IND) approval from the FDA on its allergy gummy medicine and is working on its second IND approval. The company’s R&D pipeline has consisted of most of the common OTC medications as well as prescription medications focusing on cardiology, endocrinology, and neurology.
